Boakuri Falho Gelato
Coconut - the large nut-like fruit of the palm tree. Commonly grown in the Maldives and has multiple Dhivehi names for each stage of a coconut; kihah, kurumba, gabulhi, kaashi, and so on. At the pause of each stage it concludes different flavors along with the difference in the textures as well, which is joyfully eaten in numerous ways.
Most favored way is to drink the naturally sweetened water and the flesh, fresh from kurumba ( young coconut ) which always associates with sweet memories.
Bondi - a Maldivian coconut Candy. Distinct variations of this candy are made across our islands, mainly in the South. One of the most favored versions of this treat is the Addu Bondi, also known as ‘Addu Bendi’ from the Addu atoll.
The key ingredients used can vary from grated coconut, palm sugar, jasmine water, and so on. This delicacy is one that could bring a breeze of sweet memories and reminiscence your way!
